Information Campaign to Support the QM Procedure in Bulgaria

—12 Feb 2010

An information campaign will support the Query Management Procedure launched in Bulgaria. To facilitate the Procedure and at the same time to popularize the process seven information shelves with boxes for proposals, questions and opinions were produced and distributed in each of the municipalities located along the pipeline’s route. The shelves were designed to be visible and recognizable for the citizens. The box, which stands on top of the shelf, is branded with the TBP logo and additional text explains the function of the box. The information shelves offer the citizens free brochures containing information about the project.

The locations for the shelves were selected specifically by their accessibility and popularity. The shelves and boxes were placed in the following locations:

Svilengrad - The shelf stands at the entrance to the local taxes and fees office. During the first four mounts of each year every Bulgarian has to pay their local taxes for the previous year (or the first installment of the taxes).

Topolovrad – The shelf was set in the area in front of the municipality’s Info-office and local taxes and fees office.

Elhovo – The shelf was set at the National revenue agency remote office. The place is quite appropriate because of the obligation of the Bulgarian citizens to declare and pay their income taxes by the end of April. The payment of this tax can only be done in NRA offices. The same office is designed for the payment of local taxes as well.

Bolyarovo – The shelf was placed at the entrance to the municipality building. The building is located in the town square and is next to the only bus station in Bolyarovo.

Sredets - The shelf was placed at the entrance to the municipality building which is in the area in front of the local taxes and fees office.

Kameno – The shelf is situated in the local taxes and fees office.

Burgas – The shelf is situated at the entrance to the main building of the Burgas Municipality. Thousands of people visit the building to use deferent services offered by the Municipality.
