Work on Burgas-Alexandroupolis Re-activated
—28 Jul 2010The processes related to the implementation of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis project are going to be activated. The information emerged after a meeting between Vladislav Emelyanov, CEO of TBP B.V., and Simeon Dyankov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Bulgaria. Minister Dyankov made his nominations to the positions of Bulgarian shareholder representative, Supervisory Board directors and Management Board members, as well as the new Head of the TBP Branch in Bulgaria.
During his visit Mr. Emelyanov also met with some of the new team members who will work on the pipeline construction. The CEO of TBP B.V. was impressed by their good knowledge of the project. Also discussed during the meeting were the next steps on the project, especially issues of the environmental impact and future financing of the pipeline.
“The main result of the meeting is that we have full understanding of the Bulgarian shareholder and we continue cooperating”, Vladislav Emelyanov said. “The environment and safety remain our main priorities. One should not compare the situation in the Gulf of Mexico and our project because in the Gulf oil is being extracted while here we are only going to implement oil transportation using the safest contemporary technologies”, Mr. Emelyanov added.
